Meet Tammi Alderman - Conductor of the Falcon Choirs

The Conductor

headshot Tammi Alderman has been a music educator for ten years and is in her sixth year as Director of Choral/Vocal Music at Crescenta Valley High School. She holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Music Education from Washington State University. Tammi conducted high school, junior high and church choirs in Colorado before relocating with her husband to Southern California.

Her choirs consistently receive the highest ratings in festivals and competitions locally and nationwide. Students from all seven of her choirs have been selected to be members of honor choirs at regional, state, divisional and national levels. She regularly hosts and adjudicates festivals in the greater Los Angeles area.

Ms. Alderman is currently on the Board of the California Choral Director's Association as the Chair for High School Repertoire and Standards and also serves as Chair of High School Honor Choirs for the Southern California Vocal Association.

Falcon Choir goes to Germany - Herzlich willkommen

In the spring of 2010, the Falcon Choir directed by Mrs. Tammi Alderman is touring internationally again. The singers from Crescenta Valley Senior High School are heading to Germany and the them of their Incantato Performance Tour is "Historical and Modern Germany".

Itinerary

DAY 1 Thursday. April 1
Overnight flight to Germany

DAY 2 Friday. April 2
Willkommen in München
Evening arrival in Munich after a nonstop flight. Meet your Incantato Tourmanager and drive to your hotel for a welcome dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 Saturday, April 3
Munich in-Depth - Recital
Visit the capital city of Bavaria with a stop at the famous Rathausplatz to see and hear the Glockenspiel. Experience the Easter market. Recital opportunity in the afternoon followed by dinner in a traditional restaurant.

DAY 4 Sunday, April 4
Easter Mass in Altötting
This traditional town is often referred to as the Lourdes of Germany and the cathedral is spectacular. The Falcon Choirs will sing in the Youth Mass and then engage in an exchange with fellow students.

DAY 5 Monday, April 5
Castle & (K)Night Walk
First stop today will be the beautiful baroque Pilgrimage Church Wieskirche (recital) prior to hiking up to the fairy tale castle of King Ludwig II. of Bavaria: Neuschwanstein. After the visit, continue to the walled town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. After dinner, a night walk awaits the choir and guests.

DAY 6 Tuesday, April 6
Rothenburg Tour & Concert
Experience Rothenburg by day and learn more about its rich history, then prepare for your first formal concert. The group continues to Erfurt in the former GDR for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 Wednesday, April 7
In Bach‘s Footsteps - Concert
Explore Erfurt and Eisenach with local guides and with a special emphasize on Johann Sebastian Bach. Then prepare for the second formal concert at the famous Augustinerkloster followed by a special reception and exchange with local youth.

DAY 8 Thursday, April 8
Via Leipzig to Berlin
Continue on the Bach route and visit Thom¬askirche in Leipzig, then head to the capital city of the reunited Germany.

DAY 9 Friday, April 9
Berlin in-depth - Concert
Your sightseeing tour features many highlights starting with the Reichstag, the remains of the Berlin Wall, Charlottenburg Castle etc. Afternoon at leisure for museum visits and shopping, then prepare for your third formal concert.

DAY 10 Saturday, April 10
Potsdam & High Mass
The charming town of Potsdam is only an hour away and well worth a visit. Possible exchange with local students prior to the singers being the featured guest choir for High Mass at the Berliner Dom or Gedächtniskirche. Last, but not least, enjoy a farewell dinner with local specialties in a typical Berliner restaurant.

DAY 11 Sunday, April 11
Departure
Return flight to the US.
